Whole house fan

For those of you who are friends of the hubby on facebook will know that he put in a whole house fan over the weekend. Its pretty big and took a lot of work but he is super happy he did it. For those of you wondering what that is here is a little example....

So lets say its a hot day but at night it gets lower in temperature outside and because your house takes forever to cool off you leave your AC on even though its cooler outside, because its hard to cool your inside or in our case your 2nd story. A whole house fan takes air in through your windows cycles it through your attic and pushes hot air out. It is a huge money saver during the summer(we had one at house #1) and you get an energy rebate from Edison once you buy one.

We are hoping to lower our AC bill because during the summer it gets pretty high and with the doctors saying heat makes MS symptoms worse we have to keep Brad and the house cool. This also helps the kids sleep at night because they are heaters like their daddy :)

This particular model is as quiet as a fridge which is great because in house #1 it was old school and loud! I will let everyone know when the true test of the fans ability and usefulness comes up this summer.
