So we saw the nutritionist on Friday and guess what the growth charts are a little false if your child is over the 90th percentile for height about his weight! Breven is off the chart for height at this time so that tosses the weight issue. The nutritionist said he is a little over but not to worry as long as his height catches up!
She loved his food diary even the day with the big frozen yogurt. She said his breakfast is perfect (he eats natural peanut butter on 45cal bread, with milk and fruit) she loved his kids cliff bar snacks and even his mini juice boxes in his lunch. She gave me a few calorie and fat reducing tips to use but not over use. A kid at his height ant weight should eat between 1300 and 1500 calories a day and he is right in that range.
School is going great! he is doing well and has had his first bad behavior day but other than that is doing great. He has been invited to 2 birthday parties in the next 2 weeks and has friends that he spends time with. He joined the running club and is now running 1 afternoon a week and one day on the treadmill at home(with adult supervision of course! and only at 2.5 mph and a minor incline)
He has asked to play basketball and his dad caved and said yes so we will be a b-ball family for a season. He has chosen his Christmas gift a new mountain bike and cool one at that the boy needs a bike with gears for his legs to keep up with us!
I am so proud of what he has overcome in his social issues and his health I am amazed by how my little boy is growing into such a big boy!
